Our History

The Bakhana Bamasaaba is an initiative that has been started under the auspices of the educated, enlightened and favorably placed Bagisu women to unite and form synergy to influence positive change in the region. Fed by disciplines of all calibre, it provides the much need bridge which will ensures coordination in the harnessing and meaningfully utilisation of resources for the benefit of the general population in Bugisu

It will Empower Women and Girls, Improve education, Enhance Health and Well-being, foster Economic Empowerment, Advocacy and Policy Engagement, Community Development including Networking and Solidarity.

These aims broadly encapsulate the kind of transformative impact that we hope to see an educated women's group like Bakhana Bamasaaba have in a disadvantaged region like Bugisu.

OBJECTIVES

1. To Form an alliance through the Bakhana Bamasaba as a role model force that steers the region through social-economic participation.

2. To develop collaboration with like-minded entities for access to resources in support of education in the region

3. To inculcate values and positive mindsets and attitudes among parents and communities towards the well-being of their children

4. To develop advocacy programs for the promotion of social justice and economic emancipation for the less privileged and disadvantaged

5. To develop health related programs and interventions that support the general welfare of the community.
